Green Business Revolution
The green business revolution has begun, and the train is leaving the station without you.
Many people in increasing numbers want to jump on the green eco-business bandwagon and start or shift their business toward a greener future. The green economy is truly taking hold this time around.
Here is a very small list of a few interesting companies that are running green businesses or run their business in a green fashion. Their green marketing has allowed them to stand out from the crowd and now they are reaping greener profits.
New Belgium Brewery – makes craft beer at a brewery in Colorado that seeks to be good stewards of the earth. They utilize such green business practices as increased brewing efficiencies, green building designs through lighting and heating.
They use wind power and their own waste water methane both to power their business and they have revisited their packaging methods to be more environmentally friendly.
NaturaLawn of America – uses natural organic-based fertilization program along with a specially designed Integrated Pest Management program (IPM), as opposed to the traditional chemical fertilization programs with indiscriminate application of pesticides.
They work with and utilize mother nature to create cleaner and safer lawns.
Konarka – produces flexible solar cells from organic chemicals, rather than silicon. Everyday objects can be coated and turned into energy producing everyday objects.
Seahorse Power (now known as BigBelly Solar) – here is a simple idea, attach solar powered compactors to public and municipal garbage cans to increase trash capacity and reduce the number of times the trash has to be picked up by the company. Cities are loving the concept of lower costs and greatly reduced environmental stress.
These are a combination of companies that are small start ups and large technically oriented facilities that are getting profitable in the new green business of eco-profits.
